ṣoḍaśāntaṃ pṛthakkṛtvā sāpiṇḍyaṃ dvādaśe 'hani /
pretatvāttu vimuktena saha mātuḥ sapiṇḍakam //
Having performed [the rites] ending with the sixteen separately, the sapinda rite is on the twelfth day; / the sapinda rite of the mother is performed with him who has been freed from the state of a ghost.
