api vā mārgamālambya kṣatradharmeṣu tiṣṭhataḥ /
antarā brāhmaṇaṃ kṛtvā tato 'sya vratamādiśet //
Or else, taking the path of one abiding in the duties of a warrior, / having placed a Brahmin as an intermediary, one should then enjoin his vow upon him.
