snānaṃ dānaṃ tapohomaḥ svādhyāyaḥ pitṛtapaṇam
pañcayajñā vṛthā tasya nīlīvastrasya dhāraṇāt
Bathing, giving, ascetic toil, fire oblation, Vedic recitation, offering water to ancestors, / and the five daily sacrifices are useless for him, because of wearing indigo-dyed cloth.
