sahasraparamāṃ devīṃ śatamadhyāṃ daśāvarām
gāyatrīṃ yaḥ paṭhedvipro na sa pāpena lipyate
A thousand times being the best, a hundred middling, and ten the lowest, / the brahmin who recites the divine Gāyatrī is not tainted by sin.
