śāve śavagṛhaṃ gatvā śmaśāne vāntare'pi vā
āturaṃ vyañjanaṃ kṛtvā dūrastho'pyaśucirbhavet
In a death impurity, having gone to the house of the corpse, or to the cremation ground, or in between, / having paid respects to the afflicted, even if standing far away, one becomes impure.
