nyāyāgatena dravyeṇa kartavyaṃ pāralaukikam
dānañca vidhinā deyaṃ kāle pātre guṇānvite
With wealth acquired by righteous means, rites pertaining to the other world must be performed, / and gifts must be given according to rule, at the proper time, to a worthy recipient endowed with virtues.
