vidhihīne tathā pātre yo dadāti pratigraham
na kevalaṃ tadvinaśyeccheṣamapyasya naśyati
He who offers an accepted gift contrary to rule and to an unworthy recipient, / not only does that [gift] perish, but the rest of his [merit] perishes as well.
