prathamā dharmapatnī ca dvitīyā rativarddhinī
dṛṣṭameva phalaṃ tatra nādṛṣṭamupajāyate
The first is the lawful wife, and the second is the enhancer of pleasure; / there, only a visible effect arises, not an unseen spiritual effect.
