aśaucāddhi varaṃ bāhyaṃ tasmādābhyantaraṃ varam
ubhābhyāñca śuciryastu sa śucirnetaraḥ śuciḥ
Indeed, external [purity] is better than impurity, and internal is better than that; / he who is pure by both, he is pure, not any other.
