kuśahastaḥ satyavaktā devalena hyudāhṛtam
vatsaraṃ vatsarārdhaṃ vā māsaṃ māsārdhameva vā

with kuśa-grass in hand, speaking the truth—thus has it been declared by Devala— / for a year, or half a year, or a month, or half a month.
