mlecchairnītena śūdrairvā hārite daṇḍamekhale
saṃskārapramukhaṃ tasya sarvaṃ kāryaṃ yathāvidhi
If the staff and girdle were lost while carried off by Mlecchas or by Śūdras, / all his rites starting with the rite of passage should be performed according to rule.
