kūpe viṇmūtrasaṃspṛṣṭe prāśya cāpo dvijātayaḥ
trirātreṇaiva śudhyanti kumbhe śāntapanaṃ smṛtam
Twice-born men, having consumed water in a well contaminated with feces or urine, / are purified in three nights; in the case of a water jar, a Sāntapana penance is prescribed.
