bhagavan śrotumicchāmaḥ śreyaskarma dvijottama
yathāvaddharmamācakṣva śubhāśubhavivecanam

“O venerable one, best of the twice-born, we wish to hear beneficial action; / explain duty properly, the discernment of the auspicious and the inauspicious.”
