pretasya tu jalaṃ deyaṃ snātvā ca gotrajairbahiḥ
prathame'hni tṛtīye ca saptame navame tathā
Water should be offered outside to the deceased by agnate relatives after bathing / on the first day, the third, the seventh, and the ninth.
