atha dharmācaraṇādeśaprayuktavarṇaṣoḍaśasaṃskāravarṇanam
vārāṇasyāṃ sukhāsīnaṃ vedavyāsaṃ taponidhim
papracchurmunayo'bhyetya dharmān varṇavyavasthitān

As Vedavyāsa, a treasury of ascetic power, sat comfortably in Vārāṇasī,
sages approached and asked him about the socio-religious duties established for the social classes.
