vipro garbhāṣṭame varṣe kṣattramekādaśe tathā
dvādaśe vaiśyajātistu vratopanayanakriyā

For a brahmin, the rite of initiatory investiture with the vows takes place in the eighth year from conception, for a Kṣatriya in the eleventh,
