atha sasnānādividhi pūrvāhṇakṛtyavarṇanam
nityaṃ naimittikaṃ kāmyamiti karma tridhā matam
trividhaṃ tacca vakṣyāmi gṛhasthasyāvadhāryatām

Now begins the description of morning duties, including the rules of bathing and so forth: / Action is held to be threefold: regular, occasional, and optional. / I shall declare that threefold action; let it be comprehended by the householder.
