vedavedāṅgaśāstrāṇi itihāsāni cābhyaset
adhyāpayecca sacchiṣyān sadviprāṃśca dvijottamaḥ
He should study the Vedas, the auxiliary limbs of the Veda, the treatises, and the Itihāsas; / and the excellent twice-born should teach worthy pupils and virtuous brahmins.
