agre māhiṣakaṃ dṛṣṭvā madhye ca vṛṣalīpatim /
ante vārdhuṣikaṃ dṛṣṭvā nirāśāḥ pitaro gatāḥ //

all these are apostates, outcasts from all the world. / They are purified by a cāndrāyaṇa penance or by two taptakṛcchra penances.
