ūrdhvaṃ nābheḥ karau muktvā yad aṅgam upahanyate /
ūrdhvaṃ snānam adhaḥ śaucaṃ tan mātreṇaiva śuddhyati //
Whichever limb above the navel, excluding the hands, is contaminated: / for what is above, a bath [is required]; for what is below, washing; he is purified merely by that.
