śrāvaṇyāṃ prauṣṭhapadyāṃ vā chandāṃsy upākṛtyārdhapañcamān māsān adhīyīta ||
After having performed the Upâkarman ceremony on the full moon of the month Srâvana, or of the month Bhâdra, the student must (pass over the two next days without studying, and then) study for four months and a half.
