Vaiṣṇava Dharmaśāstra 5.73

ekaṃ bahūnāṃ nighnatāṃ pratyekam uktād daṇḍād dviguṇaḥ ||
Where one is attacked by many, the punishment for each shall be the double of that which has been ordained for (attacks by) a single person.
