yo 'hiṃsakāni bhūtāni hinasty ātmasukhecchayā
sa jīvaṃś ca mṛtaś caiva na kvacit sukham edhate //
He who hurts animals that do not hurt any one, merely in order to afford pleasure to himself, will never obtain happiness, whether living or dead.
