vedoditānāṃ nityānāṃ karmaṇāṃ samatikrame
snātakavratalope ca prāyaścittam abhojanam //

For omitting one of the regular acts enjoined in the revealed (and traditional) law, and for a breach of the rules laid down for a Snâtaka, a fast is ordained as atonement.
