etāṃs tu śrāddhakālān vai nityān āha prajāpatiḥ
śrāddham eteṣv akurvāṇo narakaṃ pratipadyate //

Thus have the regular times for a Srâddha been declared by the lord of creatures. He who fails to perform a Srâddha on those days, goes to hell.
