madhūtkaṭena yaḥ śrāddhaṃ pāyasena samācaret
kārttikaṃ sakalaṃ māsaṃ prākchāye kuñjarasya ca //
'With milk profusely mixed with honey; and (he who offers such Srâddhas) during the whole month Kârttika and (in the afternoon) when the shadow of an elephant falls towards the east.'
