dvitīyāśeṣasaṃyuktā pratipaccaṇḍikārcane .
mohādathopadeśādvā kṛtaṃ putravināśakam ..
ārambhe navarātrasya dvitīyā truṭisammitā .
na kevalaṃ tithiṃ hanti vedhātsā putrasampadam ..

"The first lunar day conjoined with a remainder of the second lunar day in the worship of Caṇḍikā, / observed through delusion or through [misguided] instruction, causes the destruction of sons. / At the commencement of the Navarātra, a second lunar day equal even to a truṭi / does not merely ruin the lunar day; through its overlap it destroys the fortune of sons."
