"Eminent in all the Vedas" means capable of reciting the Rigveda and others continuously and without stumbling, with single-minded devotion. "A learned Vedic scholar" (śrotriyaḥ) means endowed with learning and study of the Veda. One who knows the Brahman to be described later is a "knower of Brahman" (brahmavit). "Youthful" (yuvā) means of middle age; this is a qualification applying to all of them. He who knows the meaning of the Mantras and Brāhmaṇas is a "knower of the meaning of the Vedas". The Jyeṣṭhasāman is a specific Sāman and the vow that is an auxiliary to studying it; one who studies it by performing that vow is a "singer of the Jyeṣṭhasāman" (jyeṣṭhasāmā). Trimadhu is a portion of the Rigveda and the vow associated with it; one who studies it by performing that vow is a "knower of the Trimadhu" (trimadhuḥ). Trisuparṇa is a portion of the Rigveda and Yajurveda and the vow associated with it; one who studies it by performing that vow is a "knower of the Trisuparṇa" (trisuparṇikaḥ). These Brahmins are the "acquisition of Brahmins", connecting with what will be said later. || 1.219
