1.10.22

ityevamuktalakṣaṇakau | kunakhī kutsitanakhaḥ | śyāvadantakaḥ svabhāvāt kṛṣṇadaśanaḥ | ete śrāddhe ninditā iti vakṣyamāṇena saṃbandhaḥ || 1.222 ||

have the characteristics thus stated. "One with diseased nails" is one with defective nails. "One with black teeth" is one with dark teeth by nature. These are condemned at a śrāddha—such is the connection with what is to be stated later. || 1.222
