dvau daive prāk trayaḥ pitrya udag ekaikam eva vā |
mātāmahānām apy evaṃ tantraṃ vā vaiśvadevikam ||
Two facing east in the divine rite, three facing north in the ancestral, or one for each;
and the same for the maternal grandfathers, or the offering to all gods may be common to both.
