adhivinnā tu bhartavyā mahad eno 'nyathā bhavet |
yatrānukūlyaṃ daṃpatyos trivargas tatra vardhate ||
A superseded wife must be maintained; otherwise a great sin arises. / Where there is harmony between husband and wife, there the threefold aim of life flourishes.
