ājñāsaṃpādinīṃ dakṣāṃ vīrasūṃ priyavādinīm |
tyajan dāpyas tṛtīyāṃśam adravyo bharaṇaṃ striyāḥ ||
He who abandons a wife who obeys commands, is skillful, bears heroic sons, and speaks pleasantly, / shall be compelled to give a third of his property; if destitute, maintenance for the woman.
