aprayacchan samāpnoti bhrūṇahatyām ṛtāv ṛtau |
gamyaṃ tv abhāve dātṝṇāṃ kanyā kuryāt svayaṃvaram ||
Not giving her, he incurs [the sin of] embryo-killing at every menstrual season. / In the absence of givers, however, the maiden should herself make a choice of a suitable husband.
