1.9.20

gatvā yad dīyate dānaṃ tad anantaphalaṃ smṛtam |
sahasraguṇam āhūya yācite tu tadardhakam ||
iti | 1.203 ||

“The gift that is given by going [to the recipient] is remembered as having boundless fruit;
that given by inviting him has a thousandfold fruit, but when asked, it has half of that.”
