deśācārāviruddhaṃ yad vyaktādhividhilakṣaṇam |
tat pramāṇaṃ smṛtaṃ lekhyam aviluptakramākṣaram ||
iti | (NSm 1.116)
"That which is not contrary to the custom of the country, has the rules concerning pledges clearly stated, / and whose sequence of letters is not omitted, is traditionally held to be a valid document." / So it is. (NSm 1.116)
