yaḥ kaścid artho niṣṇātaḥ svarucyā tu parasparam |
lekhyaṃ tu sākṣimat kāryaṃ tasmin dhanikapūrvakam ||
Whatever matter is agreed upon mutually by their own consent, / a document with witnesses should be made regarding it, preceded by [the name of] the creditor.
