2.8.30

sthāvaraṃ dvipadaṃ caiva yady api svayam arjitam |
asaṃbhūya sutān sarvān na dānaṃ na ca vikrayaḥ ||
ye jātā ye 'py ajātāś ca ye ca garbhe vyavasthitāḥ |
vṛttiṃ ca te 'bhikāṅkṣanti na dānaṃ na ca vikrayaḥ ||

"Over immovable property and bipeds, even if self-acquired,
there can be no gift or sale without bringing together all the sons.
Those who are born, those who are unborn, and those who remain in the womb
desire a livelihood; there can be no gift or sale."
