jyeṣṭhasya viṃśa uddhāraḥ sarvadravyāc ca yad varam |
tato 'rdhaṃ madhyamasya syāt turīyaṃ tu yavīyasaḥ ||
iti | (MDh 9.112)
"A twentieth part is the special share of the eldest, along with whatever is best among all the goods; / half of that shall belong to the middle son, and a fourth to the youngest." (MDh 9.112)
