pūrvaṃ naṣṭāṃ tu yo bhūmim ekaś ced uddharet kramāt |
yathābhāgaṃ labhante 'nye dattvāṃśaṃ tu turīyakam ||

"If one alone recovers by sequence land previously lost, / the others obtain according to their shares, after giving [him] a fourth part." (DhKo 1207)
