tūṣṇīm evodakaṃ kuryāt tūṣṇīṃ saṃskāram eva ca |
sarveṣāṃ kṛtacūḍānām anyatrāpīcchayā dvayam ||
iti |
"Silently indeed should one offer water, and silently perform the cremation rite / for all whose tonsure has been performed; otherwise too, both [may be done] at will."
