adhītavedo japakṛt putravān annado 'gnimān |
śaktyā ca yajñakṛn mokṣe manaḥ kuryāt tu nānyathā ||
having studied the Veda, muttering prayers, having a son, providing food, maintaining the fires, / and having performed sacrifices according to his ability, he should set his mind on liberation, but not otherwise.
