āśvine śuklapakṣe'hamekāhāro hariṃ japan
māsamekaṃ bhuktimuktyai kariṣye kaumudaṃ vratam
"Eating once a day in the bright fortnight of Āśvina, reciting [the name of] Hari, / I shall perform the Kaumuda votive observance for one month for the sake of worldly enjoyment and liberation."
