īśaśūlaḥ(1) samākhyāto mūrdhni liṅgasamanvitaḥ /
vījapūrakayukto vā śivaśāstreṣu tadvidhaḥ //
The trident of the Lord is proclaimed to be furnished with a liṅga at its summit, / or equipped with a citron fruit; such is its description in the Śiva scriptures.
