dikṣu dvārāṇi kāryāṇi na vidikṣu kadācana /
piṇḍikā koṇavistīrṇā madhyamāntā hy udāhṛtā //
Doors should be made in the cardinal directions, never in the intermediate directions.
The pedestal is said to extend to the corner, ending at the center.
