gaṅāṃ māsantu saṃsevya sarvayajñaphalaṃ labhet //
Drinking the water of the Gaṅgā is superior to a thousand cāndrāyaṇa penances. / Having attended upon the Gaṅgā for a month, one attains the fruit of all sacrifices.
