niś calārthaṃ svayaṃ devaḥ sthita ādigadādharaḥ /
gado nāmāsuro daityaḥ(1) sa hato viṣṇunā purā //
For the sake of immobility, the god himself stood as Ādigadādhara. / Formerly, an Asura, a Daitya named Gada, was slain by Viṣṇu.
