piṇḍo deyastu sarvebhyaḥ sarvair vai kulatārakaiḥ /
ātmanastu tathā deyo hy akṣayaṃ lokamicchatā //
A funeral cake should indeed be offered to all by all saviours of their lineage; / and it should likewise be offered for oneself by one desiring an imperishable world.
