agnir uvāca
kātyāyanī munīnāha yathā śrāddhaṃ tathā vade /
gayādau śrāddhaṃ kurvīta saṅkrāntyādau viśeṣataḥ //
Agni said:
As Kātyāyanī spoke to the sages, so will I declare the ancestral rite: / One should perform the ancestral rite at Gayā and other places, especially on the transition of the sun and other [astronomical occasions],
