agnir uvāca
harivaṃśampravakṣyāmi viṣṇunābhyambujādajaḥ(1) /
brahmaṇotristataḥ somaḥ somājjātaḥ purūravāḥ //
Agni said: / I will proclaim the Harivaṃśa. From the lotus of Viṣṇu's navel the Unborn [Brahmā] arose; / from Brahmā came Atri; from him, Soma; from Soma was born Purūravas.
