vāritopi sa devakyā mṛtyurgarbhoṣṭamo mama /
śrutvāśarīriṇīṃ vācaṃ matto garbhāstu māritāḥ //
Although stopped by Devakī, [saying,] “The eighth pregnancy is my death,” / having heard the bodiless voice, the embryos were indeed killed by him.
